Inlay is replacement very similar to filling. It replaces a part of a crown that is damaged by decay or fractured. If it replaces only upper part we call it inlay, and if it replaces upper part and sides of the tooth crown we call it onlay. It is made in laboratory and has some advantages compared to fillings.
